Pomodoro

Pomodoro is an awesome tool I use to help keep me focused on long assignments, especially when I have to read chapters in a textbook. It works like this: the timer runs for 25 minutes, during which time you’re supposed to focus on the assignment at hand. The app alerts you after 25 minutes are up, and then begins another time for a 5 minute break. There are studies to show that this 25 minute concentrating/5 minute break cycle is optimal for being efficient. It’s worked for me so far, and I encourage you to try it out for yourself!

There are several different Pomodoro apps. These are a few free ones that I’ve found to be pretty good:

I apologize to Windows and Android users, I don’t have a link for you! If you find the app in your app store(s), please let me know, and I’ll be sure to add it to the list.
